Fairnie House is a
lovely old centrally situated Georgian townhouse. The name "Fairnie"
is taken from the earliest title deeds of the property where the
first recorded owner was Isobel Fairnie. The house is a 'C' listed
building dating from c.1750.
All bedrooms are on the ground floor and have TV, central heating,
hair dryers and tea/coffee making facilities. Two bedrooms have
en-suite facilities while the third has its own private bathroom
across the hall. A stone staircase leads up to the first floor where
we have the guests' dining room.
The central location of Fairnie House is perfect for all that St
Andrews has to offer. The Abbey ruins are only 200 metres away, The
Byre theatre and restaurant is a near neighbour while the old
working harbour and East Sands beach can be reached within 5-10
minutes. Restaurants, shops and the Tourist Information Centre are
all within easy reach and the famous Golf Links will only take a
very interesting 15 minutes walk to reach.
